(Sunday, November 23, 2014) – With the purpose of creating a practical English speaking atmosphere and widening the bonds between IEI-ers and students from other educational institutions around Ho Chi Minh City, the monthly IEI English Club event with the topic “Around Town: Reunification Palace” was successfully held the Reunification Palace, 135 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, District 1.
It was such a wonderful chance when more than 40 attendants eagerly paid a visit to 26 historical sites in the building such as President's Office, Vice President’s Reception Room, Banquet Chamber, Credentials Presenting Room, Entertainment Room, Library, …. under the comprehensive instruction of enthusiastic tour guides from the Reunification Palace.
Students had a pleasant opportunity to discover many beautiful sites inside the building which is widely recognized as one of the most prominent landmarks in Ho Chi Minh City.
After touring the whole building, all participants were divided into 5 groups to compete in game activities, in which each group was assigned to pass 6 challenges based on their teamwork skills, collaboration spirit and mutual understanding among individuals. With every challenge completed, each group would be offered a piece of a secret letter which could only be solved when the other five pieces were fully collected.
In the end, the top three groups that excellently accomplished their tasks were named and awarded lovely gifts by IEI English Club for their fruitful collaboration and “studying hard – playing hard” spirit.
Those exciting activities brought in a great deal of joy for all groups of students as they found it a nice chance to enhance their problem-solving skills, learn from peers, and especially create new connections.
Once again, congratulate our game winners and thank you for making the event such a big success. We love to see you all in the upcoming events of IEI English Club.
