(Thursday, September 07, 2017) As an annual event to express IEIs heartiest congratulations to the MBA Cohort 04s graduates and warmest greetings to the Fall Semester 2017s new students, the MBA Graduation Ceremony and Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2017 2018 was hosted at Saigon Palace Hotel, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

The event was seen as a wonderful opportunity for IEI’s students to make new friends right before the start of the academic year 2017 – 2018 as well as familiarize themselves with the new academic environment that would make them a part of the truly vibrant learning community in the entire system of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City.
The ceremony was well attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat – President of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Giao – Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City's Union of Science and Technology Associations &  Former Vice President of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Truong Quang Duoc – IEI’s Executive Director, Dr. Robert Conolly – Lecturer of IEI’s MBA programs, Mr. Antonios Papadimitrou – Lecturer of IEI’s undergraduate programs, Mr. Jon Glendinning, Director of the British Council in Ho Chi Minh City and a large number of  students, parents, friends and colleagues in such a pleasant atmosphere.

The event also welcomed a large number of VNU-HCM’s distinguished representatives, faculty members, and honored guests at Saigon Palace Hotel, District 1 on September 07, 2017.
On behalf of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat shared the most joyful moments with the entire group of MBA graduates on such a momentous occasion. He said: “I would like to take this opportunity to express my most sincere congratulations to the MBA Cohort 04. As I look out at all of you, I sense excitement and pride. You are well deserved because each of you has spent the past two years working hard, studying hard to explore and develop yourself. I believe that all of you will make more significant changes in your life and career onward. Hope that you will stay connected with us, with one another and to the circle of friends at VNU-HCM, IEI and University of Northampton.”

On behalf of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat also expressed a deep sense of appreciation to his colleagues and staff members at IEI and the University of Northampton who have enthusiastically assisted the students on their intellectual journey as well as contributed to defining the excellence of the MBA program in particular and the prestige of both universities in general.

Students received the MBA degrees from The University of Northampton, United Kingdom on September 07, 2017. The MBA program is jointly developed between two recognized institutions: VNU-HCM and The University of Northampton, United Kingdom and is administered at the International Education Institute of VNU-HCM. It is a strong evidence of the commitment to quality education and social responsibility for both parties. With nearly 20 years of experience in operating cooperation programs, IEI has assisted students in approaching an excellent program and improve their intellectual ability.

As the most outstanding graduate of MBA Cohort 04, Duong Thuy Huong found it a special honor to be given the medal and the bouquet of flowers by IEI’s Council for her genuine efforts and excellent academic performance during the past two years. In addition, “attending the University of Northampton's MBA course and having opportunity to approach lessons and trainings through practical teaching method have helped me to gain a lot of priceless knowledge. In the whole process of studying, besides my personal efforts, it must be said that I was so lucky. I mean how fortunate I have been to have valuable helps, advice and friendship from many of you here”, Huong said.

Right after the MBA Graduation Ceremony, both Dr. Truong Quang Duoc (on behalf of IEI’s Council) and Dr. Robert Conolly (on behalf of IEI’s faculty members) delivered opening remarks to welcome all students to the new academic year of 2017 – 2018.

The Opening Ceremony was also a wonderful chance to meet with outstanding faces who had won a large number of awards such as Academic Scholarships, New Student Scholarships. The scholarship criteria included an impressive GPA, active involvements in student activities and social services.

From the bottom of her heart, Le Hong Ngan, a new undergraduate student of Fall 2017, who has just been awarded a 50% merit-based scholarship, feel like being on a big journey – the journey to her future, the journey to her dream. She said: “I know all the students sitting here are from all walks of life and had chosen IEI for all types of reasons. For me, investment in learning is never a waste of time so pursuing this program is a precious experience, a valuable investment for my current life and future career. Therefore, I urge you all to make the most out of this wonderful opportunity that IEI offers – the learning experience that transcends boundaries. By creating a truly international and dynamic environment, the courses at IEI aim at contributing to increasing your competency in your field of study, but also, in a wider context, at contributing to the development of society.

As a member of Le Quy Don High School’s alumni, Tran Anh Khoa, a freshman of the Fall 2017 semester, was awarded a 40% merit-based scholarship thanks mostly to his impressive academic performance and rich history of extracurricular activities, all of which contributed greatly to making his student life more meaningful and giving him a solid foundation to grow up as well as make further achievements in the academic year of 2017-2018.
