(Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017) – As a quarterly event of great importance to generations of Vietnamese graduate and undergraduate students, the Skills Training Workshop “How to Succeed as an International Student” under the enthusiastic guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanh Tran, took place at Nguyen Khac Nhu Campus, District 1.
A large number of energetic students from various schools in Ho Chi Minh City joined the workshop with Dr. Thanh Tran on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.
The training workshop was regarded as Dr. Thanh Tran’s first-hand experience as well as a marvelous opportunity for dozens of participating students who were really interested in the U.S. education system or are making better preparations for their studies the United States in years to come.
Despite meeting the students for the first time, Dr. Thanh Tran provided his participants with a wealth of useful information concerning such topics as extracurricular activities, student clubs & organizations, employment opportunities, internship programs and scholarship schemes, all of which truly enabled students to maximize their academic performance and enrich their social lives with global perspectives.
Right after the Question & Answer Session, Dr. Thanh Tran, on behalf of VNU-HCM, International Education Institute (IEI) and University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), presented certificates of merit to an excellent group of 10 winners of the 2017 Knowledge Quiz, namely “Vietnam - U.S. Diplomatic Relations and Asia – Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).”
This year’s competition was seen as a great success when dozens of outstanding candidates across Ho Chi Minh City had submitted their Answer Sheets to the Organizing Board over the past several weeks. Furthermore, the major purposes of the 2017 Knowledge Quiz were to get students involved into IEI’s campus life, create a high-quality academic environment for students in the city, enhance students’ comprehension and perspectives on current global affairs and more especially, raising their awareness of Vietnam – U.S. diplomatic relations and Asia – Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in the stage of fast-paced globalization and international integration.
On behalf of the Organizing Board, we would love to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Thanh Tran for your passionate enthusiasm and substantial contribution in making the workshop a remarkably fruitful activity for both IEI-ers and students throughout Ho Chi Minh City. Once again, our heartfelt thanks should also go to all participating students for your genuine interest and hard work. We look forward to welcoming you in upcoming events of IEI, especially in 2018.
