Students from International Education Institute – VNUHCM and International University – VNUHCM have had a charitable excursion to Dieu Giac Temple on last Sunday (24/11), to provide gifts for the children at the Dieu Giac Temple Orphanage.
Despite initial hesitancy and shyness, the children welcomed our students with joy. A brief introduction session then took place to help the children ‘grow out of shyness’ for better engagement later. Following up was a short break, allowing the students to setup outdoor games which were primarily designed for the kids to enjoy, some of which include sack racing and bowling. A hint of proudness and happiness were seen as they witnessed the children faces lit up when the games proceeded and those bright smiles they have brought to the kids.
After all the physically challenging games, students attempted to have the children sit down for coloring activity. The given coloring pages were quickly filled with pretty shades, expressing the children’s creative side that was drawn from their beautiful mind. Despite the ordinary of this activity, it has been claimed to nurture creativity and assist language development in kids, according to Mom Junction.
The charitable excursion ended as a meaningful social experience for IEI students, connecting them with the surrounding communities through small yet heart-warming acts of contribution.
